The West Asia Organization for Cancer Prevention (WAOCP) was founded in Nov. 2015 as a chapter of Asian Pacific Organization for Cancer Prevention. The decision to establish a subsidiary of APOCP was initiated at the 9th regional meeting of APOCP in Tehran, Iran. In 2016, the Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention moved to Tehran. The need to develop a legal entity to manage the APOCP’s west Asia Chapter and the journal's day to day tasks and activities became a must. For this, a not-for-profit scientific organization named "West Asia Organization for Cancer Prevention" was registered in the City of Sabzevar, Iran in 2017 (with registration number 466 and administrative ID number of 14009995354).
WAOCP follow the same goal and objective as her sister organization (APOCP). Having the responsibility of managing the Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention, WAOCP’s immediate mandate is to promote the APJCP's scientific stands and consequently claim its status in the Web of Science database. In this endeavor, WAOCP is extending a hand to all scientists and scientific bodies in the Asia and Pacific region in seeking help to claim APJCP’s status in Web of Science database.
